Dom Brown first toured with Duran Duran in 2004, standing in for lead guitarist Andy Taylor. In 2006 he was made full-time lead guitarist. Over the past sixteen years, Dom has performed on four world tours and recorded three albums with Duran Duran, co-writing over 20 songs on their last two albums – All You Need Is Now (2011) and Paper Gods (2015).
Dom has co-written six released songs with Mark Ronson and shares other writing credits with Anamatronic (Scissor Sisters), Mr Hudson, Kelis, Jahméne Douglas (X Factor 2012 runner-up), Sandi Thom, Tom Grennan (BBC Introducing 2017 nominee) and Nick Hodgson (Kaiser Chiefs). Dom composed and produced the music for an hour-long episode of BBC1 drama, The Canterbury Tales.
In 2012 Dom set up Church Row Studios in Wandsworth and was involved in recording, producing and engineering both established and up-and-coming artists. In 2016, he relocated and founded Rockwood Studios near Tooting Bec Common.
Artists who have worked in Dom’s studios include Duran Duran, Mark Ronson, Mark Owen (Take That), Ian Hunter, Anna Calvi, Sandi Thom, Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Jahméne Douglas, Chris Spedding, James Walsh (Starsailor), Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), The Rebelles (featuring Tracie Hunter), Ryan Ashley and Tom Grennan.
Over the years, Dom has collaborated with many top producers such as Mark Ronson, Danja, Jimmy Douglass, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. As a session musician, he has performed live or recorded with artists including Justin Timberlake, Liam Gallagher, Paolo Nutini, The Sugababes, Emma Bunton and The Appletons, among others.
Dom has also performed on TV with Elton John, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, Take That, Robin Gibb, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Eddie Grant, Eagle Eye Cherry and Girls Aloud.
Dom has released two critically acclaimed solo albums and a critically acclaimed blues album with Blue to Brown (featuring his voice artist father Rob Brown). Blues, soul, funk and rock genres are all true passions and he has explored these styles extensively throughout his life.
Lucy Layton was born on 3rd September 1982. Her father, Paul Layton is an original member of multi-million record selling 70’s pop group ‘The New Seekers’, famous for their hits ‘Beg Steal or Borrow, ‘I’d Like To Teach the world to Sing (In Perfect Harmony) and ‘Circles’. Her mother Patricia was an actress in comedy television/theatre, and now performs as a Magician - MMC Member of the Magic Circle.
Layton began writing music at the age of ten. As a young teen, she was invited to form a girl-band Heaven Sent with the German production company Ollywood, which included compilation releases ‘Ultradance’ alongside the US act ‘The Vengaboys’ This first release was crucial for Layton as she decided to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter after this.
For the next few years she worked with critically acclaimed music producers such as Pat Dunne, who produced her first songs at 17 years old in Dublin, as well as co-writer and music partner Senadee, Luke Juby, KK -Kevin Kerrigan and an album with K-Warren (of Architechs fame)
Visits to the US, Shanghai, China and Africa including one very pertinent trip to Libya where she met Colonel Gaddafi, triggered Lucy’s awareness of global issues and galvanised her to focus on ethical topics.
Soon after her encounter, Layton and Senadee co-wrote 'The Girl Who Destroyed The World' which featured in the final of of the 3 Mobile Music Awards. Senadee and Lucy then performed together at shows including Teenage Cancer Trust Picnic in the park 'Music by Twilight' and supported The New Seekers UK tour. The track was played by numerous BBC Radio stations, whilst The EP ‘Layton’ was recorded at Resident studios, London and was for sale at their gigs.
In 2010, Layton travelled to Greece to DJ and write and whilst there met her longstanding Irish writing partner Richard Murray; they jointly went on to co-write a number of songs for her first self- released album 'Downbeat And Loved' which was then available on Amazon / Spotify / ITunes
The pair invented their take of 70s inspired country/folk. The release of the album in July 2013 was covered by BBC radio and all regional stations within the UK.
In 2014, Layton travelled to the UAE, initially to Bahrain, to plan the start of the next album. There she performed at The ‘Taste of Dubai’ Festivals and at the 4,000 capacity venue ‘Zero Gravity’, including live Pa’s at Armani’s Burj Khalifa, with Dubai band members Nick Hussey (‘I’m a Dreamer’/’Rhythm of The Night’) and Richard Murray once more.
During her time there in 2015, Layton toplined “Jaded” a dance/trance release with South African artist and producer Lostly - André Frauenstein, released with Discover/ Recoverworld Records and further worked on toplining Avicii & Fedde Le Grand tracks. When she arrived back to the UK co-wrote with artists Aggro Santos & David Eames, a Sander Van Doorn Dance track.
In 2018, Layton released a new version of ‘I’d Like To Teach the World to Sing’,( In Perfect Harmony) produced by K-Warren and all proceeds from the downloads were donated to the charity Syria Relief in support of ‘The Step Forward’ project; which aimed to provide prosthetic limbs to children that were injured by the war in Syria. A concert followed at the Shard in London. Trustees & supporters of the charity as well as celebrities and press were in attendance. £40,000 was raised.
On the 13th of October 2016, Layton and her band were awarded an EDM by UK Parliament, performing in The House of Commons. Thw news for the Syria Relief single was covered by UK and international press, including The Huffington Post, BBC Radio and London Live News channel.
Layton, has travelled the globe extensively performing at private parties and at events in the UAE/US/Maldives (not exhaustive) -for celebrity audiences inc: The Beckhams / The Ramsey’s and The Abramovich Family.
In 2020, Layton was asked to join chill out sensation Kinobe, (as vocalist & also on keyboards) known for their hit “Slip into Something More Comfortable and the group began writing together for the next album, with a pre-pandemic launch show taking place at Tileyard Studios in London.
Her recent co-writing with artists include: Richard Murray, Andrew Roachford (Roachford) and Dom Brown (Duran Duran) Their upcoming charity single “We Will Never Fall(Forever Brave)”
for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, will be released on the 25.04.22 with a live interview on the GB News Channel’s Breakfast show- presented by Eamon Holmes & Isabel Webster.
